The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.
Doctors
William M. Egan DMD
Dr. Egan graduated in 1973 from Tufts University with high honors. In 1982 he graduated from University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine with awards for attaining the "Highest Scholastic Standing", "Excellence in Sciences" and "Excellence in Leadership". Dr. Egan is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Worcester Dental Society, and Metro West Dental Society. Dr. Egan has been treating patients at Southborough Dental Associates since 1982. He has a simple philosophy which is to perform the highest quality of dentistry he can with the patients best interest at heart. Outside of the office Dr. Egan enjoys golfing, skiing, running surfing and spending time with his family.
Andrew P. Zaterka, DMD
Dr. Zaterka graduated from St. John's in Shrewsbury in 1986. He attended Tufts University and Tufts Dental School, achieving high honors in each semester. Dr. Zaterka is a member of the American Dental Society, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Worcester Dental Society where he is a volunteer for patients without access to dental care. He is a certified Invisalign provider, and has a dual concentration in oral surgery and porcelain esthetics in his post-doctoral education. He lives in Southborough with his wife and three children. They are members of St. Mark's Church in town.
Karen L. Madruga, DMD
Dr. Madruga has been treating patients since 1999. She received her training at the Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University. Prior to becoming a dentist she earned a degree in Dental Hygiene at Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene. Dr. Madruga is a member of the American Dental Association and Massachusetts Dental Society. She is trained in CEREC Restoration and is certified in Invisalign. Dr. Madruga combines exceptional education, extensive clinical experience and long standing personal dedication to improving people's dental health. Her focus has been in diagnosis and treatment planning for comprehensive restorative and esthetic dentistry. Dr. Madruga lives in Boston and enjoys traveling.
Hygienists
Donna
Donna graduated from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene with an associates degree in Science. Donna has been with Southborough Dental Associates for many years and her loyalty and dedication to the practice and patients has created a strong following and many lasting friendships. Donna strives to provide quality oral healthcare for all her patients in a comfortable and caring environment while focusing on their unique individual needs.
Debbie
Debbie is a graduate of Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene. Debbie has spent most of her 23 year Dental Hygiene career at Southborough Dental Associates. Debbie finds it rewarding to meet many wonderful people and to be a part in their dental health. Debbie keeps busy by attending the many sporting events of her two teenage children. She also loves to walk, run, and is a member of a gym where she enjoys pilates and Zumba classes.
Emily
Emily is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College with an associates degree in Dental Hygiene. She also has a bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College. Emily enjoys treating patients of all ages. Her goal is to make hygiene appointments a comfortable experience and for her patients to feel at ease during visits. Emily enjoys spending time with her family.
Sarah
Sarah is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College with an associate's degree in dental hygiene. Sarah supervises the hygiene department and her 24 years of experience at Southborough Dental Associates creates an atmosphere of continuity and familiarity. Sarah's goal is to provide patients with the best care and to give them the knowledge they need to maintain optimal oral health at home.
Laura
Laura is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College. As a registered dental hygienist, Laura has extensive experience in periodontal dentistry. Laura's goal is to help patients maintain excellent oral health with both her years of experience in clinical care and emphasis on patient education. Laura has enjoyed working with the Doctors, patients and staff at Southborough Dental for the past 13 years. Laura enjoys exercise, especially spinning and lots of time on Cape Cod.
Amie
Amie graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 2003. Prior to being a dental hygienist Amie was also a certified dental assistant. Amie received a clinical excellence award at Quinsigamond in 2003. She volunteers each year in the "Kid Seal Program" which provides sealants for children in need. Amie is experienced in treating pediatric and adult hygiene patients. She enjoys working with the public and educating patients about the benefits of good oral health. Amie enjoys spending time with friends and family and practicing yoga.
