Veneers

Teeth that are badly stained, shaped or crooked may be improved by a porcelain veneer. Veneers are thin porcelain "facings" that are bonded to the front of teeth. White teeth and even smiles are often achieved with porcelain veneers. Veneers are very color stable and resist staining by coffee or smoking. They are very effective at eliminating spaces and gaps between front teeth.

Typically veneers entail  three appointments: treatment planning, preparation and final models, and then delivery.  Usually anesthesia is used to ensure a comfortable second and third visit. The "no anesthesia" and "no drilling" veneers are for very specific cases. Our office generally does not perform them, and you will be hard pressed to find a "no prep" veneer case with a natural esthetic outcome. The final result is almost always  bulky white  "chicklets".   Drilling is required so that the final product provides an even, secure, and natural  result. The goal of the veneer is conservation of tooth structure, strength, and esthetics.

Porcelain veneers are designed to be strong, long lasting, and beautiful. Proper brushing and flossing is required to ensure their long life. Certain activities such as chewing on finger nails, pens, opening packages with your teeth, or simple grinding must be avoided to avoid cracking or chipping the veneer. Veneers are an investment in your smile and confidence, and we will work very closely with you to achieve your desired result.
